Amla powder is obtained from the dried and ground fruit of the Amla tree. It is also often called "Indian gooseberry" and has been used since centuries as an Ayuverda remedy. Amla is rich in vitamin C and acts as a powerful antioxidant, which prevents premature graying of hair, hair loss and dandruff. Amla powder has astringent properties and is also suitable for the care of normal, oily and combination skin. The light brown color powder has a quite strong herbal acidic smell, my husband doesn't like it at all! So I always add some drops of essential oils in order to cover the "horse smell" effect. Amla extract is widely used as a natural ingredient for shampoos, hair oils and natural colors. Since it is rich in tannins, it can be used to fix colors. I use it mostly as a weekly hair mask and makes my hair much stronger and full filled. Amla powder has been a real discovery for my hair health. I mix the powder with water, or with olive or coconut oil and leave to rest for 15 minutes. Then I apply into my hair and fix it with a tinfoil. After a minimum of 30 minutes (normally I keep it for 2-3 hours), I rinse with plenty of clean water. For a mask with water another wash with a shampoo is not necessary, while for a mask with oil a further wash is necessary.
As a face mask, I mix the powder with water to make a paste and let it sit for 15 minutes. I apply the paste on clean skin, let it dry over 10 minutes, then wash with clean water and continue the treatment with a tonic and a moisturizer.
Brahmi powder: This Ayurvedic powder is prepared with shredded leaves and branches of the Brahmi plant, according to a traditional recipe. Brahmi is a very popular Ayurvedic medicinal plant, it grows all over the world in humid environments, such as at the edges of lakes and is used in cosmetics mainly for hair care. Its strong antioxidant properties are very positive for hair and scalp: Brahmi promotes the growth of healthy, thick and thick hair, acts against split ends, as it forms a natural protective layer on the hair fiber. Since I make weekly hair mask, my hair are thicker and stronger. On a regular use it helps nourish my hair roots and prevent loss, has a calming and refreshing effect on the scalp, moisturizes it and prevents dryness which can cause dandruff and itching. I mix the powder with hot water and form a soft paste. I apply it to damp hair, initially massaging the scalp and then spreading over the lengths. After minimum 30 minutes under a tinfoil (I normally keep it for 2-3 hours) I rinse it with water and a natural shampoo.
Heritage Store, Rose Water
I like to experience the delicate floral scent of real roses any time of the year. I personally use it as a hydrating toner that gently helps cleanse, freshen, and restore a healthy glow, removes debris and residue, combats dryness and helps diminish appearance of fine lines and refine pores. In this purpose, I apply it in the morning before the serum or in the night after removing my make-up, alternating it with the Andalou Toner or the PURE Toner. It can be also used it as a perfume, body splash, add it to hair rinse or bath water, combine it with therapeutic oils to make a unique formula. I like the Rose Water by the American brand Heritage Store as the water has been vortexed and magnetized to raise the energy to a higher vibration, the rosa damascena (hydrogenated rose) is pure flower oil and it's a product certified by periodic laboratory tests to be free of pesticide residues.
