Swiss citizenship

After 14 years in Switzerland, two master's degrees at the Geneva and Bern University of Music, the creation of POURQUOIPAS in Lausanne and ISMS in Zurich, Irene obtained Swiss citizenship. She is now officially an Italian-Swiss artist!

Pre-College Faculty at the Konservatorium Winterthur

Irene was appointed violin teacher for the Advanced program and Pre-College students at the Konservatorium Winterthur. The institution, which is part of the Musikkollegium Winterthur, has a prestigious history in violin pedagogy: Aida Stucki raised the teenager Anne-Sophie Mutter and so many other successful students.

Swiss Tour with SCC and Heinz Holliger

Irene joins the SCC soloists for a Swiss Tour together with Heinz Holliger, Sarah Wegener,
Muriel Cantoreggi, Jürg Dähler, Daniel Haefliger and Felix Renggli, presenting works by Holliger, Birwislte, Jolivet, Lehmann and Wagner. The tour will happen in Zürich, Geneva, bern, Lugano and Basel between the 18th and the 22nd of January.

Mozart for Christmas with SCC

Join the Swiss Chamber Concerts on December 11th in Zürich for a chamber music recital with Irene Abrigo, Jürg Dähler, Joël Marosi and Barbara Zanichelli presenting Mozart Divertimento for string trio, Scarlatti Sonatas (arr. by J. Dähler for string trio) and pieces by the contemporary Swiss composer Nadir Vassena for a strings instrument and voice.

Mozart, Schubert and Schumann with friends at FESTIVO

A chamber music concert featuring works by Schubert, Mozart and Schumann will be performed on July 26 at the Festivo Music Festival in Germany. Irene will play together with Francesco Sica, Jürg Dähler, Johannes Erkes, Enrico Bronzi and Francesca Sperandeo.

"Two fragments of an Ancient Legend" for solo violin, written by Antonmario Semolini and dedicated to Irene, will be premiered by her at the Pfingstfestival Schloss Brunegg on a violin by Antonio Stradivari.

World premiere and CD recording with Swiss Chamber Soloists

Irene creates "De Umbris" for flute and string trio of the Swiss composer X.Dayer with Felix Renggli, Jürg Dähler and Daniel Haefliger in Geneva, Zurich, Basel and Lugano, and they record it on the Geneva Radio. The CD, dedicated to the works of Dayer, will be released at the end of 2019 for CLAVES.

Irene received a magnificent violin from G.B.Guadagnini, made in Milan in 1758, at her disposal from a generous investor.

Debut in Brazil with a South-American premiere - soloist with orchestra

Irene debuts as a soloist at the Festival de Musica Nas Montana in Poco de Caldas, Brazil, with the Festival orchestra conducted by M ° Jean Reis. They interpret the first violin concerto by Ottorino Respighi (rev. S. Di Vittorio) as a South American première execution.

Irene wins the 2015 Respighi Award!

Irene wins the Respighi Award 2015 !

She will be invited to perform as a soloist with the New York Chamber Orchestra at Carnegie Hall during the 2015-16 season.
